With the backlash against Taylor Swift yanking her music off digital streaming service Spotify, claiming that you “don’t make money from it.” There have been many people who have spoken out on the issue. Foo Fighters lead man Dave Grohl is now among them.
He states that he “doesn’t f**king care” if people stream his music. He goes on to say that he doesn’t care how much people pay for his music, so long as they are able to listen to it. He claims that we are too focused on the technology and the delivery of the music, that we aren’t focused enough on the music. His advice for musicians? “You want people to f**king listen to your music? Give them your music. And then go play a show. They like hearing your music? They’ll go see a show. To me it’s that simple, and I think it used to work that way.”
